# Photo and media fixtures

These are informational test files, not Aven artwork. Downloaded image/video
bytes are unchanged. Only the filenames were changed to exercise mixed Chinese
and Latin UI text. `manifest.json` records source URLs, sizes and SHA-256 hashes.

The EXIF images carry large English position labels intentionally: correctness
means “top” is actually at the top after decoding. Those labels are pixels in the
test photograph and are **not** evidence of Aven Latin typography. Use the real
Chinese filenames, native menus, and typography paragraphs for text evaluation.

The 32 × 32 transparency fixture should stay small under the no-upscale default;
zoom it manually when checking alpha edges. Do not call that expected behavior a
failure. Use `00-地出-Earthrise.jpg` for the ordinary photo-view screenshot.


# 京都春日 — photo attribution

All eight photographers’ file-description pages explicitly dedicate their own
photographs to **CC0 1.0 Universal**. This is the license of each photograph,
not merely the license of Wikimedia structured metadata. CC0 terms are in
`LICENSE-CC0.txt` and at [Creative Commons](https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/).

Each downloaded JPEG is unchanged. Seven images use Wikimedia’s hosted scaled
copy; the eighth uses the original 720 × 960 JPEG. Chinese filenames are the
only local change. No image was generated, retouched, cropped or annotated by Aven.

The source page and downloaded-file URL, byte count, pixel dimensions and SHA-256
hash for each image are recorded in `manifest.json`. Files were retrieved and
individually inspected on 2026-09-15. Source HTML snapshots remain in the local
ignored `.cache/photo-album-source/` research directory.
